2020 Exercise Physiology

Are You Looking To Overcome Your Chronic Health Condition and Transform Your Health Status?

Our Exercise Physiologists will create personalised exercise programs including onsite gym and home based activity options.

An Exercise Physiologist is a health professional who is trained to prescribe evidence-based exercise to general populations AND to clinical populations who have any form of chronic disease, and/or pain of a musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiopulmonary and/or metabolic nature (such as Osteoporosis, Multiple Sclerosis, Hypertension, Diabetes and more).

To the untrained eye, an Exercise Physiologist’s prescription may look very similar to a standard personal training session. However, we are different to Personal Trainers. Every Exercise Physiologist employed by Optimum Health Solutions has acquired a four-year University degree, and is accredited by Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA). Being accredited by ESSA allows Medicare to recognise that we have acquired sufficient training to receive benefits such as Doctor referrals, Work Cover cases and Diabetes Health Group programs. Therefore, Exercise Physiologists and Personal Trainers differ by the duration of their training, as well as the clients they are authorised to prescribe to safely.
